Talk about a transformation! A few years ago we worked on this incredible exterior and interior house renovation/addition and what an incredible transformation it was! We truly enjoy seeing the change of a home during a renovation and seeing the transformative vision come to life. For this client, we helped them select all the exterior finishes for their custom home build. If you are looking to build new or change your house exterior design, here are some tips we like to follow when helping our clients select their exterior finishes.

1) Select at least two different finishes for the home exterior, whether it be stucco with stone, siding with stone, brick with siding. Having more than one finish will give the home different exterior textures which will give it more interest and depth.

2) Have constrast between the colours of the exterior finishes. Whether it be high or low contrast between the colours, we have found having some contrast between the finishes can highlight unique design features in the exterior of the home.

3) Match your windows exterior finish to your fascia, gutters, and downspouts. Tying the windows colour with these elements will give your home a cohesive look and not make the windows stand out on their own.

4) Have an interesting front door. Having a unique front door will give your home the wow factor it deserves! A front door can be unique by painting it an accent colour that pops or by having a door with an interesting design that stands out from the rest of the house design.
